Swiss Life AM buys development site in Bonn
Swiss Life Asset Managers has acquired a plot of land in downtown Bonn on which a residential and commercial superstructure is to be built.
The property on Kaiser-Karl-Ring in Bonn's Nordstadt has an area of 6,900 sqm and is located in an upscale inner-city residential neighborhood. The existing buildings are vacant and will be demolished as soon as the demolition permit has been obtained, Swiss Life Asset Managers announced. A residential and commercial project with a focus on residential use is to be built as a replacement.
A mix of condominiums, rental apartments and socially subsidized housing is planned, the asset manager said. In addition, a daycare center, retail space and medical uses could complement the project. Building construction is scheduled to start in 2024, with completion planned for the end of 2026.
Among other things, Swiss Life Asset Managers is developing the Westside office campus in Bonn, where around 30,000 square meters of commercial space will be created on five construction sites by 2025. In addition, the asset manager is redeveloping the former main administration building of the insurance company Deutscher Herold on Poppelsdorfer Allee. The site covers a total area of 24,500 square meters. 280 residential units are also to be built there. (ah)
