The opening of the Swiss ESG business real estate investment group has met with great interest, the Swiss Life Investment Foundation reports. The targeted volume of CHF 250 million was oversubscribed several times, and 109 pension funds participated in the opening. The capital will now be used to reduce leverage following a portfolio purchase in December 2021, and will also be used to purchase additional properties and make sustainable investments in the portfolio. The investment group invests in commercial properties in central locations with stable earnings and values. As of the end of March, it holds 110 properties with a market value of CHF 2.2 billion in its portfolio.

The two investment groups Infrastructure Global (CHF hedged) and Infrastructure Global (EUR) also successfully completed their second subscription period, according to Swiss Life Investment Foundation. They have recorded further capital commitments of around CHF 200 million. A total of 57 investors are now invested in the two investment groups, including both small and larger employee benefits institutions, it said. The fresh money will be used to further increase diversification and expand the portfolio. Investments will focus on infrastructure assets in the fields of renewable energy, utilities, waste management, communications, transportation and social infrastructure. (ah)
