Varia US holds out the prospect of a capital increase
Varia US Properties is considering a capital increase from authorized capital to continue the realignment of its portfolio.
According to Varia US Properties, the share capital increase is expected to take place before the end of the second quarter of 2022, depending on market conditions. The company intends to offer new shares in a rights offering at or close to the market price.
The size of the offering has not yet been determined; the board of directors plans to decide the amount based on how it plans to use the proceeds. Patrick Richard, delegate of Varia US's board of directors, says the real estate company plans to use the proceeds to continue its portfolio realignment toward "larger, newer and better-located assets with improved ESG performance."
The Annual General Meeting on April 29 approved an additional dividend payment ("True-Up") for the financial year 2021 in the amount of CHF 1.20 per share. In addition, the quarterly distribution program of CHF 2.00 per share - payable in four quarterly installments of CHF 0.50 each - is to be continued. (ah)
