Swiss Prime Site leases 90,000 square meters in the first half of the year
Swiss Prime Site Immobilien newly leased or re-let a total of 90,000 sqm of space in the first half of the year. This is almost twice as much as in the previous year, when the real estate company let 47,000 sqm.
Swiss Prime Site Immobilien seems to feel nothing of an economic slowdown: The market conditions and the related demand for commercial space are consistently positive, the real estate company reports. Across the entire portfolio and across all regions, a total of 90,000 sqm was newly leased or re-let in the first half of the current year (previous year: 47,000 sqm).
In Basel, in particular, demand has increased sharply, writes Swiss Prime Site Immobilien in the release. In the repositioned Peter Merian building near the SBB train station, the technology company Adobe, the chemical company Arxada and the Swiss Post Office have leased significant space. And in the Messeturm, only two of the total 30 floors are currently available. The first Swiss coliving location of the Ariv company has opened in the former Stücki Hotel.
In the Zurich region, Swiss Prime Site reports leasing successes in the West-Log, the MFO building and the Prime Tower. In the Geneva region, the real estate company has signed a lease with BSE Ecole, among others, in the Patio Plaza, located between the city center and the airport.
Space in the JED development project in Schlieren and Stücki Park in Basel is also in high demand, Swiss Prime Site added. By the end of the year, the real estate company expects pre-letting rates of around 90% for both projects.
CEO Martin Kaleja says he remains optimistic about low vacancy rates and positive rental income performance for the end of the year because of the strong performance of re-lets and new leases in the portfolio and the still intact economic outlook. (ah)
