According to the Zug-based investment manager Empira, the Empira Opprtunities Fund has invested around 840 million euros (CHF 816.7 million) since its launch in 2020. The return (ITD) amounts to around 65 percent, it said.

The fund invests opportunistically in portfolio properties, project developments and land banking. It also invests in assets and financing in liquidation scenarios. Geographically, the focus is on the DACH region and the USA; most recently, 180 residential units were acquired in the US state of Ohio. 74 percent of the allocation is currently in the German real estate market.

Lahcen Knapp, chairman of Empira Group, says the outlook for real estate investments remains positive. "Residential real estate in particular offers attractive risk-adjusted returns and comparatively high income security. There is a shortage of affordable housing in the U.S. and especially in German-speaking countries in Europe." (ah)
