A capital increase of around CHF 150 million is to take place in the fall. The majority of the funds are earmarked for financing the second construction phase of the major Wankdorfcity 3 project in Bern, as announced by the fund management company Immofonds Asset Management AG.

With Wankdorfcity 3, a new district with over 100,000 square meters of floor space will be built on an area of around 34,000 square meters by 2029. Furthermore, according to the ad hoc announcement, the funds will be used to implement already planned ESG measures and other smaller construction projects in the portfolio as well as to reduce external debt.

"The planned issue allows existing and new investors to participate in a rock-solid real estate portfolio and one of the most innovative urban development projects in Switzerland," says Gabriela Theus, Managing Director of Immofonds Asset Management AG. Urban coexistence is being reinterpreted with Wankdorfcity 3. The planned 500 apartments and around 3,000 workplaces as well as green and leisure areas are to be built on different levels. (aw)
