Stoneweg: Entry into the Swiss residential real estate market

The Geneva-based real estate investment company Stoneweg has acquired a majority stake in the real estate asset manager Fundim SA, which was founded in 2015. The core business of the Lausanne-based company is residential real estate.

The closing of the transaction is still subject to certain conditions precedent, including FINMA approval, Stoneweg announced. The main objective of the acquisition of the real estate developer and real estate fund manager, which is active throughout French-speaking Switzerland, is to expand Fundim's existing strategies and extend them to German-speaking Switzerland. At the same time, Stoneweg aims to further expand its activities in Switzerland - a core market in which the group sees great growth potential in various areas, in particular through "the innovative vision of the Fundim team of 15 experienced professionals".

Fundim will reportedly continue to operate under its existing brand and current management team, with the Fundim co-founders, Anthony Collé and Olivier Klunge, and the management team led by Daniel Moser remaining responsible for the strategic direction and operations. They will work closely with Stoneweg to drive growth. Anthony Collé remains Chairman of the Board of Directors.

"This partnership offers us an excellent opportunity to strengthen our team with highly qualified experts and a significant institutional network," says Jaume Sabater, founding partner and CEO of the Stoneweg Group. "What may appear to be a diversification into Switzerland is in fact a continuation of the strategies we are already successfully implementing in other markets such as Spain and the USA."

This transaction will allow Fundim to benefit from the support, experience and resources of the Stoneweg Group, says Anthony Collé. "I know Jaume well and the cultural link between our two companies is a solid foundation for a successful and harmonious collaboration." (bw)
