Swiss Life's new Head of Real Estate comes from the German subsidiary. The company has announced that Jan Plückhahn, currently Head Real Estate in Germany and member of the Board of Management of Beos AG, will be appointed Head Real Estate of Swiss Life Asset Managers as of July 1. He will take over the management of the real estate business from Per Erikson, who will succeed Stefan Mächler as Group Chief Investment Officer on April 1 (IB reported). Plückhahn will be a member of the Executive Board of Swiss Life Asset Managers and report directly to Per Erikson.

Plückhahn has worked for Beos for over 22 years. He has been a member of the Board of Management since 2016 and has headed Swiss Life's German real estate activities since 2023. "During this time, he has made a significant contribution to the success of the real estate business in Germany", comments Swiss Life on the appointment, referring among other things to the continuous development of the fund business in existing funds. The transaction for the Voltair building in Berlin is also mentioned in the press release. The property not far from Alexanderplatz was acquired in 2022 together with Norges Bank Investment Management, the Norwegian sovereign wealth fund, for a total of EUR 457 million. "In addition, he is driving the development and expansion of the 'Life Science & Technology' use class and is involved in pioneering projects such as Berlin Decks and Berlin Prime Innovation, which are also attracting keen interest from institutional investors in today's challenging market phase," writes Swiss Life about the new Head Real Estate.

Plückhahn's successor at the helm of the real estate business in Germany will be Christina Schädler, who will retain her seat on the Beos Management Board at the same time. Michael Kapler, currently Head of Capital Markets at Beos, will take over Plückhahn's seat on the Beos Management Board. He will be responsible for the fund business. In addition, as Head Portfolio Management, he will be responsible for the overall strategic management of portfolio management at Swiss Life Asset Managers in Germany. (aw)
